I sympathise more for the guy acting out of revenge, and perhaps discouraging others from playing decks I don't want to see, than with those who intentionally play boring decks (the same applies to the lame meta decks you mentioned). This combo needs only two cards and six mana to activate: 1x The Book of Exalted Deeds 1x Faceless Haven The invincibility combo can be achieved by following these steps: Play Faceless Haven Cast The Book of Exalted Deeds Pay three snow mana to turn Faceless Haven into a 4/3 creature Pay three white mana to put the enlightened counter on. So, from my perspective, if I met you two, he would have no reasons to rope/wrong me (excluding he would rope any deck, beside the point), but you would do me wrong because that's your play style choice.

But, see the point, his behaviour was a response to a wrong he thought he received (you wanted to waste his time), your deck choice is your desire to waste everyone's time regardless what they did to you. Personally, I wouldn't have any preference between a roper or a boring time waster deck, both are unfun, both are ahole, and I wouldn't play against either.

It’s basically a free extra creature, a solid 4/3 beater that can pop out of its little hidey hole to swing for decent damage.
FACELESS HAVEN MTG COMBO HOW TO
Lead the way: How to build a MTG Commander deck. If it was in person we could choose who to play against but instead we get to play vs decks we despise and vs players we despise. If you can cope with including a couple of lands that don’t make coloured mana, there’s no reason not to have a Faceless Haven in your deck. I wouldn't justify one evil with other evils.
